DLC Landscape & Arbor is experiencing significant growth and we are hiring talent to grow with us.

We are looking for a full-time Small Engine Mechanic who has a positive attitude and holds themselves accountable. This role is responsible for maintaining operations of small and light-duty equipment. Must handle diagnostics and repairs which includes performing mechanical repairs to ensure proper performance and safety of vehicles.

Experience:

  • High school diploma / GED preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing equipment

  • Ability to pass required safety training, DOT physical exam, background check and drug testing.

  • Must have valid Colorado Driver’s License and be insurable.

  • Previous field experience within landscape industry (maintenance or construction)

  • Work schedule Monday-Friday (some weekends/evenings may be required)

Duties and Tasks:

  • Performing preventative maintenance and repair of a variety of small equipment as directed by Foreman or Shop Manager.

  • Examining mechanical equipment and evaluating to determine necessary repairs and/or maintenance.

  • Disassembly of equipment, which involves repairing and/or replacing broken components.

  • Complete accurate equipment service orders daily.

  • Perform field service maintenance and repairs on equipment, vehicles, and/or trailers when necessary.

  • Fabricate to repair equipment and vehicles which includes oxygen-acetylene torch cutting and melting, welding with ARC and MIG welders, and cutting with a plasma cutter.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area free from hazards.

  • Follow all company, DOT, OSHA, and FMCSA fleet, shop, and transportation regulations.

Winter Responsibilities:

  • During winter months and when snow and/or ice is forecasted, Fleet Mechanic II will be on-call for snow related equipment repairs per the shop rotation schedule

  • Diagnose and repair snow equipment for necessary repairs both in the shop and field environments.

  • Thorough knowledge of equipment and vehicles.

  • Excellent mechanical skills and strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to read schematics, both hydraulic and electrical.

  • Thorough knowledge of the limitations of specific types of construction equipment and safety practices used in performing maintenance and repair services.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) are highly desired.

  • Must possess excellent people skills and demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Develop and maintain open, two-way communication with all team members.

  • Demonstrates a high level of initiative to improve efficiencies.
