Landscape Maintenance Supervisor

DLC Landscape & Arbor is experiencing significant growth and we are hiring talent to grow with us.

We are looking for a full-time Landscape Maintenance Supervisor who has a positive attitude and holds themselves accountable.

You are:

Experience:

  • Experience with hand tools and other small equipment: 2 years minimum

  • Commercial & Residential maintenance experience: 2 years minimum

  • Previous field experience within landscape industry (maintenance or construction)

  • Valid Driver's License (required)

  • Work schedule Monday-Friday (some weekends/evenings may be required)

Position Qualifications:

  • Hourly position with opportunity for overtime

  • 5+ years of related experience preferred

  • Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s license

  • Understanding of operations and cost dynamics

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Proven track record in field operations

  • Passionate about safety and eliminating risks

  • Bilingual / Spanish-speaking

Duties and Tasks:

  • Perform weekly site checks to ensure quality and safety standards.

  • Onsite training to improve efficiencies and quality of work.

  • Coordinate morning dispatch crews.

  • To assist organization and profitability to meet or exceed established annual budgets.

  • To ensure quality of work is kept at high standards.

  • Enforcement of maintenance rules and procedures to keep trucks and equipment clean and in good operating condition.

  • Communicate any equipment issues to mechanic in a timely manner.

  • Maintain safety.

  • Abide by and accommodate for the future growth planning as deemed necessary by Management.

  • Recruit, manage, train, and develop staff per company policies and employment laws; ensure relevant HR procedures are followed.

  • Develop and communicate daily procedures and general day-to-day operations with management.

  • Correct and approve employee timecards weekly.

  • Monitor weather reports, check snow properties for snow depths, start and direct snow removal operations. Perform snow removal operations including plowing and shoveling.

  • Be on call and available for snow removal during winter season.

  • Attend all company meetings as required.

  • Ensure maintenance of shop and warehouse are taken care of.

  • Writes technical and professional reports and correspondence using proper spelling, grammar, and style.

  • Applies common sense understanding to carry out simple written and oral instructions; deals with standardized situations or problems involving a few concrete variables.

  • May involve heavy lifting.

  • Must have visual acuity to see and read paper and electronic documents.

  • Sits for long periods of time, may walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach, climb, carry and lift for carrying periods.

  • Personality: Self-driven, results-oriented with positive outlook, and clear focus on high quality and business profit. A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance. Mature, credible and comfortable in dealing with business owners, as well as property managers and company executives. Reliable, tolerant, and determined. Empathetic communicator, able to see things from the other persons point of view. Well-presented and business like. Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability. Able to get along with others and be a team player.

  • Personal Situation: Must be mature and domestically secure. Able to communicate reliably to office base. Able to work extended hours on occasion when required. Has clean or near clean driving record.

  • Specific Job Skills: Understands the principles of landscape maintenance and construction. Proficient in plan and specification interpretation. Understands basic landscape maintenance methods and procedures.

  • Must be able to Quote landscape projects and one-off jobs.

  • Identify site needs and property needs before being requested by Customer.

  • Irrigation & plant health care knowledge ideal.

  • Other duties as assigned.
